Coatbridge Terminal is Scotland's largest intermodal port, handling approximately three million tonnes of cargo annually. Containerbase (Scotland) - linked by private road - allows shippers to enjoy a full range of services including break bulk, groupage, etc.

The terminal is best observed by taking a train from Motherwell to Cumbernauld (this train will also pass Motherwell depot and Mossend). The freightliner terminal is on the left-hand side after passing Whifflet/Coatbridge Central station when travelling north.

Not entriely sure how to get there by road although, it seems a fair walk but you could ask for direction to b ut it on the Gartsherrie Road.

A SPT (Strathclyde Passenger Transit) Daytripper ticket is excellent value and will allow unlimited travel (anytime at weekends, and after 9am on weekdays) around Glasgow, and not only covers Motherwell and Cumbernauld, but extends to Ayr and even further to the south-west.
