London Cannon Street is one of three terminus stations served by the North Kent Line beyond London Bridge (the other two being London Blackfriars and London Charing Cross). The station underwent a major rebuilding in the late 1980's which saw all platforms covered by a huge office block complex, necessitating all platforms to be permanently lit and air conditioned. The only original part of this station still standing are the two huge towers and walls which are grade II listed structures. Ticket barriers are employed at this station, thus a valid pass is needed to access the platforms. The trains which serve Cannon Street are nothing awe inspiring, being the typical commuter electric multiple units which work the North Kent Line and the route to Sevenoaks and Tonbridge. Car parking is literally non-existent, but all good station facilites such as lavatories and food outlets can be found on the main concourse.
