The new ticket barriers may cause problems when trying to gain access to some of the platforms WITHOUT A TICKET it appears that you cannot just walk up and down some of the platforms collecting coaching / loco stock anymore, although platform 1 where the BTP office and Car park walkway is, and the Heathrow Express Platform still continue to be uncontrolled.

If using the foot bridge to try and gain access to platforms there were ticket staff also at the top of stairs.

Station can be reached by local buses and London under ground(Northern Line)

There is a snack shop on the station grounds.

Great place to see and photograph passenger trains
Although a Fragonset class 47 is normally stabled in one of the platforms. Also see FGW class 47s and their NEW 57'S.

Views from all platforms. First, GW / Thames / Heathrow Express and 1 Chiltern train per day.
