London Euston is a Pendolino's Paradise! If Virgin Trains are your thing then this is the only place to go!
Station platforms rather dimly lit, but excellent views from the ends of all platforms here. Take some binoculars for the freight movements and some suburban services, because no matter where you are situated here, a lot of traffic is too far away to be seen easily.
All the usual station facilities in the station concourse.
Generally a good place to spot, and plenty of traffic in and out all the time.
My rating 8/10.
London Euston has a good range of traffic, including Pendolinos, 321s and 313s. There is a few Holyhead trains a day which are run by a Voyager, and the First Scotrail sleeper runs into there. The station isn't good for photography after dark, due to dim lighting. A good view point is at the end of the platform. Euston is easily reached by tube (Nothern and Victoria Lines) by rail or by bus. There is a wide range of fast food places, and so you wouldn't need to go into Central London for lunch! There is also a small range of shops. The station concourse seems awfully quiet. You would think with the height of the ceiling you there would be a great echo. However, the roof is soundproof!
Great place to see Virgin locomotives
47,87,90, also new 57 rescue locomotives
At platform 2 or 3 an EWS 90 should be stabled (after hauling the Calondonian sleeper train into Euston)
To reach the station use the London underground
(Northern line), or Bakerloo line. London buses are also routed to trhe station.
All platforms are good for photography of Locomotives leaving and entering the station.
The station has a BURGER KING, and a snack shop on site (on station grounds).
Untold eating places on concourse. view end of platforms. travel there by public transport
