The station at Slade Green is a two platform affair which was rebuilt in the 1970's by British Rail in the typical featureless architectural style of the era. However, the most interesting part of the railway at Slade Green is the depot. Slade Green depot is home to all the electric multiple units which traverse the North Kent Lines, namely the Class 465 and 466's and is currently under a programme of modernisation for the acceptance of a new breed of EMU: the Class 376 'Electrostar' Metro units. The depot and adjacent sidings can be viewed from a conveniently placed public footbridge, in addition to riding on a passing train. Unsurprisingly, no toilet facilities are provided at the station and the ticket office is open only in the morning, being completely closed on a Sunday.
