To be really honest Eckington isn't near Ashchurch it is about 10 miles away. I will do the best as I can to keep you by the railway line all the time.

Turn right out of Ashchurch railway stn at the roundabout, over the bridge and over the roundabout and keep going. you are now running parrellel with the line. The line should be on your right. Then go round a bend and immidietly turn right into Hardwicke Bank Road. And there are two Grange roads so turn left, over the crossing and keep looking on your right and at the 3rd bend look right and you will see 56023, 47295, 01452, 01xxx, If you get out your car and look at the grid's nose on the right hand side then you will be able to see 47295's nose as well.

When you leave turn left at the T junction and follow the road round past Kinsham. Keep going until you come to a main road at a Y junction turn left, Then turn right again at another Y junction, and follow the signs to Eckington.

If you keep looking left you might see glimpses of the line, so look out!! Go past the lay-by, keep going, down the steep hill and then the line is parrellel with you for ages. On the left there are several crossings (foot) The first crossing near you is private. the second one is a public one but it is farmers land. The next one is the best because it has brilliant views left and right for photos. The next crossing is all right but again it is farmers land but you are welcome to go there. At these crossings the people from Eckington and the train drivers are very strict about these crossings and if you trespass then you will be told to leave or might even be fined. If you carry on you will see a news agents on the right. If you would like any refreshments at very low prices and I mean very low prices.

If you would like to go to the famous Eckington bridge then follow these directions.
Go straight on after the newsagents, passed the church and keep going, you then go down a steep hill and turn right into a little picnic area and car park, Next to the Avon (river) First thing make sure you lock your car at this point. Cross over the road (NOTE: there is no need to go over the bridge) Walk through kissing gates and stick to the footpath. Walk to the bridge and there is your photo shots. At the moment they have just cleared the banks and it makes a difference!!! It is worth thinking about.
