This four-platform through station serves all Charing Cross bound traffic and provides a walkway to the main London Waterloo terminus station, in addition to an entrance for the Jubilee underground line. The station retains its original platform structures, although the former wooden valancing of the canopy has been replaced with the typical corrugated metal equivalent pioneered by BR. Trains to be seen are the usual suburban electric multiple units and long-distance Class 375 EMUs, these of which are still complemented by the existing slam-door stock on many of the services.
