Kirkcaldy is on the main line out of Edinburgh Waverley, and is the place to go if you are looking to collect 170/4s and 158s. All the trains for the north pass through here, but most do not stop. There are a number of places along the platforms which are excellent for photos, and at night, a unit usually stables to the north of the station.

Probably not a place to make a special journey to, but nevertheless it's worth stopping off here if you are driving along the Fife Coastal Route.
