Turn off the A64 between Tadcaster and York towards Colton village. After 2 minutes you will see the line and you can park in a lay-by in between the junction.
Good photos can be taken, especially the Leeds line as it is non electrified.
Everything that leaves York southbound is visible. So plenty of 91's,HST,66,60,virgin units,Transpennine units and Northern Units.
No toilets, but food and drink available at Macdonalds drivethrough at the junction of A64.
