This delightful station is on the Peterborough-Manton Junction-Leicester/Nottingham line. The beautiful stone building on the main platform is virtually unchanged from when it was built for the Syston & Peterborough Railway in 1845. Part of this building is now occupied by Robert Humm & Co. the transport bookseller. The other platform has the original wooden waiting room. Next to this is the bay platform, now filled in, that used to be occupied by the Stamford-Seaton auto train. The east of the station is dominated by a tunnel, to the west there is a clear view out towards Manton. A preserved signal box stands on the northern side.

Traffic is continuous but mostly 158 & 170 units on East Midlands services from Birmingham to Stansted & Norwich.

Freight is usually ballast from Mountsorrel to the eastern counties but the odd diverted liner train also comes this way, plus the St.Pancras - Ketton - Peterborough cement.

Unbelievably this station is not signposted from the town that it serves, however it is near the George Hotel and just off the A43 Kettering - Stamford road along Gresley Drive.

There is a full range of shops, cafes, etc. within 5 minutes walk.
