Hinckley is a good place to go, but only if you know whats coming!!.

You get a bit of freight coming through, mainly tanks from Humberside to Bedworth, Steel from Corby to Margam (and vice versa), ballast to and from the Stud Farm (Leicester - Burton branch) and aggregates from Mountsorrel to Northampton and return.

Usually, you can judge what freight is due by looking at freightmaster, if its going towards Nuneaton, then the bottom of Platform 1 is ideal, as the station is situated on a slight curve.

Passenger services consist of Class 153's/156's/158's and Class 170 "Turbostars", and are all operated by Central Trains. Although scheduled services are hourly (xx26 to Birmingham and xx31 to Leicester/Nottingham) you do get services passing through, these are usually the Stansted - Birmingham services.

Nuneaton is about 5 mins train journey away and you can see a wider selection of workings there
