what was once was the midlands largest depot has turned into a ghost shed, dont waste your time time getting off the train, you can usually see most stuff from there if anything at all.
Having visited Bescot in August 2012, my advice to anyone considering visiting this once excellent location is DON'T.
Two locos on shed, both withdrawn, and another three in the yard, all visible from the passing train.
Possibly the most disappointing place I've ever visited.
Micheal Wright is Wrong this time.
Also if you want to get everything there, if you feel like walking for 1/2 a mile then follow this: Walk out of the stn and turn right running parrallel with the river walk all the way until the end of the path and you will see everything. (hopefully) If you haven't done it then do it it is worth it. You will DEFINIATLY need BINOS. thanks for looking. You WILL definately need binos because there are a lot of engines that you can't see the numbers of.
Bescot station is the best viewing point for trains
The bridge at the station is a good photo area and Bescot TMD can be seen
Normal locomotives at Bescot are as followes..
37,47,56,57,59,60,66,66/5,66/7,67,86,87,90,92.
Station access is from Junction 16 on the M6 motorway, here onwards the station wiil be sign posted. Virgin services are also available.
A Macdonald's is located opposite the station car park, parking is free.
(The path as mentioned above gets a clear view of loco''s you won't need binoculars, I have done this walk myself and I didn't.)
