Since the previous review, SWT no longer uses VEPs or 442s. The station is the focus of three lines to the North, and two to the South. Nearly everything is DMU/EMU Taking these in order:
a) Aldershot/Reading line is electrified as far as Ash junction on the Aldershot route. It is served by SWT class 450s and occasional 458s to Aldershot where they reverse and carry on to Staines. Occasional specials to Mid Hants or Reading. Trains towards Reading are FGW 165s on stoppers and 166s on fast services. There is one freight service, twice a week, Fawley-Alton tanks with an EWS66. one/two Voyager 220s early & late in day only.(may cease soon.
b) The Woking line is SWT 450s , 444s and 455s
c) the 'New Line' via Cobham to London is mostly SWT 455s, plus two/three peak hour workings with 'Southern' 319s, and peak hour SWT 444s fast to London avoiding Woking.
d) Redhill line (non electrified after Peasmarsh jct.) like Reading line: 165s and 166s to Gatwick plus occasional steam specials doing a lunchtime round trip from Victoria (often Wednesdays). occasional departmental EWS 66s. Voyager 220s still pass very early / very late in the day on Manschester / Brighton, but not for much longer.
e) Portsmouth main line is mostly 450s with 444s during the peaks.(plus two EWS 66 freights each week Fawley-Alton tanks)

Guildford imposes just the same scope of traction as Woking but serves just the same importance.Guildford is usally host to SWT VEP's, Wessex's, 455's and 450/444 Desrios, but you also get the chance to see First Great Western 165's and 166's on Reading-Redhill or Reading-Gatwick Airport cross country runs. Sometimes there is the odd 220 "Voyager" that can be seen at Guildford, but that is quite a rare experniece!!! Also like Woking, Guildford usally sees VSOE and Mid Hants Daylight Steam Workings.
