Great Wymondley is located on the ECML north of Stevenage. About 2 miles south of Hitchin. There are a number of good photographic locations on Arch Road and Hitchin Road where you can get some panoramic shots. Arch Road goes over the railway so pictures can be taken from this location looking both North and South. There is a public footpath from Arch Road to Hitchin Road which takes you close to the line where you can get good shots and it leads under the railway.

There is a pub in the village which does a good pint and has parking. They also do food and of course there is a toilet. There are no shops in the village. There is an hourly bus service 80 from Hitchin to Stevenage if you are on public transport.
