The best place in Tempsford by the level crossing by the old (now demolished) station. Come off the A1 on the Blunham turning (north from Sandy) and follow the bridge over the A1 - turn left at the roundabout and second right into the village. Keep following the road until it becomes almost a track. There is a layby by the crossing with good visibility in both directions. And of course, the level crossing warning sirens go off well before trains arrive! Good for GNER 91s, HSTs, Hull Trains 170s and WAGN 365s. 5pm-7pm particularly fruitful, with a few freights thrown in for good measure.

The village has a Post Office which offers some grub but its best to pop into Ben's Chippy near Sandy station (a couple of miles away) for sustinence.
