Good spot for viewing and taking pictures for quite a few workings.

Be prepared though to be watched and quized by the Tees & Hartlepool Port Authority Police. 9/11 has really tightened security. Be prepared to show some form of identification. They are very friendly and are not out to be awkward.
It might be best to park your car in the unused gate entrance 150m short of the security gate and walk up to the bridge on foot.
