This is a very nice place to be in the summer and early autumn, although in winter it advisable to stay under the roof. Staple diet is First Great Western HST's and Class 150/153 DMU's. Also Class 158's visit from time to time along with a very occasional Class 159 from London Waterloo. CrossCountry Voyagers also visit daily. Best viewing points to be had are at the end of the platforms. The last time I went, there were NO ticket barriers, platform 4 (used by the sleeper from Paddington) you can (or could) walk straight on.

There is a small cafe/buffet on the station and toilets are available. There is a Tourist Information Centre just outside the station, taxis and buses available too.

Town Centre is a minutes walk. Quite a few cafes and takeaways.
