This four-platform station was subject to a partial rebuild by British Rail in the 1980's which resulted in the removal of the overall roof and the construction of a large office block above. Despite this, Fenchurch Street retains much of its character and fortunately the station's street frontage was retained and subsequently restored. Access to the station concourse is achieved via escalators or a standard flight of stairs and ticket barriers have been installed on all platforms.
Class 357 EMUs are now the mainstay of the line from Fenchurch Street to Southend-on-Sea and are currently operated by the c2c company. Venturing to the end of any of the station's platforms will allow one to view the Docklands Light Railway.

Only go here weekday peaktime and you will see most of the class 357's in 2 to 3 hours. If you go to Barking you will also see freight trains (if you have time).
