87's??? Since when has Doncaster been a place where you'd normally expect to see an 87??? NEVER expect to see 59s at Donny, as don't 86's, 56's, or ANYTHING from DRS. Your confusing the ECML with the WCML.
I would just like to make a correction that the only loco's out of that you'd have a real chance of seeing are 66's (sheds on nearly everything!!!) with a few 67's, 60's and 90's. Also 91's visit on the usual GNER "service". 92's can be seen at Doncaster mostly at night. The other classes are very rare / never visit at all.
Great place to see freight trains, these can be viewed and easily photographed from both stations,Food shops
and cafe's are near both of these stations
Access is Great North Eastern Railway from London and further up noth.Virgin trains also have frequent services.
