Cholsey is a good place to view freight. the best place is at the didcot end of platforms 3 & 4 but ask at the ticket office first for permission and DO NOT go onto platforms 1 & 2 as this may cause a security alert as first great western do not like rail enthusiasts. Platforms 3 & 4 are on the slow lines anyway.

In just 90 minutes I spotted 2 EWS 66's, 2 Freightliner 66's & a Freightliner 57. The rest is just the usual HST's, Adelantes, Voyagers & 165/166 DMU's.

There are no food & drink facilities.

From the west follow the A417 from Wantage. The signs for cholsey are about 5 miles out of wantage. from the east (reading) take the A429 to cholsey.
