The urine problem is a thing of the past now here as cctv has sprung up down by the stairs area.

There is also cctv on the car park now.

Still a good place to go but the station has seen better days the smell of urine and empty beer cans tell another story but not to bad
If you go and sit in the car at the pub you will be asked to move on either in English or some sort of Latin

Good location close to B'ham to see stuff passing from Bescot (via Sutton Park line), Washwood Heath, Daw Mill colliery, Leicester,(Midland ML) Plus NE to SW & vice versa. I go lunchtimes, Monday is good, 6 loco's in an hour, 2x F.liner 66's (coal) 2x EWS 60's(steel) 2x EWS 66's(1 coal, 1 automotive). Also plenty of Voyagers & Central unit activity, 156, 158 & 170's in abundance.
Parking in either free public carpark by station or if you want to sit in your car, park in carpark behind The Dog pub. Plenty of room, good view of all movements through a wire mesh fence. Alternative, view from end of station platform - usually other spotters in attendance for company, but not in cold weather! Photographers seem to like the shots available from the footbridge. Good veiws of lines from Derby & Leicester.
Good chip shop next to bridge, fish chips & peas special £2.50. Not too sure of Dog pub - I dont drink so you'l have to try for yourself.
It's a fairly prosperous area, so no real worries from druggies or others after your property.
