By train or car, start at Motherwell car park (free) rather than the street parking.
Its a 5 minute walk to the station, buy a runner ticket (approx £5) weekdays after 9am, weekends any time.
Take the train to Whifflet passing Motherwell on the left, Mossend yard on the right. At Whifflet take the train to Glasgow passing Polmadie. At Glasgow take a train to Paisley Canal, passing Glasgow Shields and Corkerhill. Keep on the train for return ticket includes the underground, then take 10 minute walk to Queen St. There is a good cafe at left hand side.
The last time I did the above trip was 21/5/03 and sighted L0CO/156/158/334/170/90/66/37/08/92/++
