Dingwall station is on the Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh and Wick/Thurso lines. It is served by First ScotRail with about 10 trains a day in each direction. These are all class 158s. There is the weekly oil train which runs to Lairg on the Wick line. This runs on Fridays only and is usually an EWS class 66, although it has been a 37 or a 67 on occasions. The Royal Scotsman often passes here as do any charters visiting the north or west. Dingwall is the junction for the Kyle of Lochalsh and Wick lines. There is a pub on the north platform and a tea room. The town centre is a short 5 minute walk from the station.
