Bury St Edmunds is a small historic town in the heart of sunny Suffolk. The station has two platforms with wheel chair access to both platforms and a lift.

Parking is cheap at the front of the station, or free at the side of the station at the top of the lane immediately after the railway bridge on the left.

Both platforms offer good viewing for the opposite side. The far end of platform 2 gives a good view of the yard too. The yard is used approx 3 times a week by a 66 hauled aggregate train.

Tesco is a stones throw away near the bridge, and at the front of the station is a very delicious burger van which sells all your favourites from hot dogs to baguettes, and beverages.

Best time to visit for freight is from 12 mid day onwards.

Good connecting services from Ipswich and Peterborough / Cambridge.
