Welcome to Polmont.
Polmont is a junction line on the Edinburgh to Glasgow line and the Edinburgh to Dunblane line (this is what the junction is for!) There are regular Coal Trains (66ews and hoppers 35xxxx & 368xxx) there are also tanks that run lunchtime 1300, 1330 and at tea time 1800 1830 lunch are towards Edinburgh and tea towards Stirling.
Some specials come through and many work in the summer (37's). Only last week did 47854 & 37197 came through light engine after the 37 had a repaint to royal maroon. The Inverness - Kings Cross is through at 10:50 and the Kings Cross - Inverness comes through at 1657 (GNER 43's)
Overall a good station (not the best but good)

scotrail edinburgh and glasgows
ever hour during the day (from hours 08 - 19) 08,25,38,55
then glasgow 1923/53, 2023/53, 2123/53, 2223/53, 2323/53
(08 and 38 stop then the 23 past after 1900)
Dunblane(from 07 till 20) (00,30)
Last train Glasgow and Edinburgh is both 2330

i'm usually there (mon - fri 1610 - 1730)
(sat 1000 - 1330)
(sun 1230 - 1300)

Buses run regularly to Madiston and Falkirk
Bank over the road
Free Car Park
BRING FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
