The Arun Valley line runs from Horsham to Arundel Junction and includes the stations of Christ Hospitlal, Billingshurst, Pulborough, Amberley and Arundel. In many respects this line is a photographers delight with the flood plains of the River Arun, rolling hills and Arundel Castle, not to mention the semaphore signals at Pulborough and Amberley. These two stations are of the greatest interest with their own unique features. Pulborough signal box at the end of the up platform must have one of the best shows of window boxes and hanging baskets any where on the network. Amberley retains all the quaint features of a small country station lost in time. It also has a small signal box, well it's more like a hut, on the down platform. Unfortunatly this is normally boraded up, but if you are lucky and there are diversions running due to engineering works on the Brighton Main Line, it may be open. Only thing missing on the line now is the slam door stock, which has now been replaced by 377's.
