This location lies on the Swansea "avoiding line". Heading West on the M4, exit at Junction 46. Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout and follow signs for A48 Gorseinon. As soon as you join the A48, take your first right and follow that road which will take you under the M4, past a garden centre on your right, until you reach a dead end. The road ends on a bridge which crosses the Swansea "avoiding line".
The site would have seen a lot of traffic in the past from the now demolished Felindre Steel Works.
You will get great views from both sides of the bridge, including some loco thrash on the down line.
Traction includes Steel Workings to Trostre Steelworks (Llanelli) and Oil workings to West Wales, formed by loco traction 60 & 66.
Practically no passenger workings can be seen on this line, apart from the ATW Rhymney - Fishguard Harbour hauled by 37/4. I guess this service avoids Swansea High Street in order to avoid providing a Top and Tail 37/4 or switching ends at Swansea.
