Havant has ticket barriers but the kindly SWT staff should let you onto the platform if they believe that you're genuinely there to take train numbers. Regular 444s and 450s on the Portsmouth Direct line, Electrostar 377s on the Brighton line, the odd 158 on through Brighton-the west services, and the remaining slam-door 421 and 423 units seeing out their careers. No freight apart from occasional engineering trains.

The station has a buffet on each platform, and there is a pub right outside the down platform exit. the The station is handily placed for the town, but it's not much of a place to visit in all honesty.
