I was there in September 2011 and like previous contributor the vegetation is a bit of a nuisance for photography but shots are not bad off the bridge. Just add a bit more info regarding food, there is a post office in the village which sells hot snacks.

The best place to view workings around Milford Junction is from the railway overbridge on Lumby Lane in the village of Monk Fryston. Travelling east into Monk Fryston along the A63, after crossing the railway turn left into Lumby Lane. The bridge is about 200yds ahead. Parking is in Ingthorpe Lane just before the bridge. There is room for 6 cars although there are restrictions around private drives. I have made 2 visits seeing: 14 locos in 4.5hrs & 26 in 6hrs, so patience is the key! There are a couple of pubs in the village about 400yds away but didn't notice a chippie. Happy spotting!
