Redhill is a busy station just under half way between London and Brighton and at the junction with lines to Tonbridge and Guildford. Main operator is Southern with 377's and occaisional 319 455 or 456, the latter two mainly on a Sunday operating the Redhill - London Bridge service. Also seen are South Eastern 375's and 508's, and FGW Link 165 and 166's. There are a couple of Thameslink services that stop, using 319's and a Virgin Cross Country 220 or 221. Most services stop here with the fast trains of Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express using the Quarry lines which pass to the east of the station. However some of these fast services may come through the middle roads, and there are some Gatwick Express trains booked through this way, mainly during the rush hours.
Occaisional freight can be seen with a regular train to Crawley New Yard, normally once a day during the week in the morning, and soemtimes a second in the afternoon, normally 66 or 59's, and odd trains to Ardingly and Three Bridges Yard. Also some diversions come down via the Tonbridge Line, more often at weekends when there is engineering work on.
There is a coffee shop on platform 1/2 and a shop in the station entrance. Redhill town centre is just accross the road with ample cheap parking, especially in the shopping centre car park, and all the normal food oulets.
Please note there are ticket staff at both entrances to the station so a ticket will be needed to gain access to the platforms.
