Bognor Regis is a sea side resort to the west of Brighton on the south coast. The only operator here is Southern with clas 377's. These units are often stabled here either in the middle road or in the sidings, all of which can be viewed from the platforms.
The real interest here will be for photographers looking for that little bit of difference. The only colour light signal is the distant for the up line. All the other signals are semaphore, including the distant for the down, which is fixed on. As far as I am aware this is one of only two still in use on the main line in the south of England. Photos of this can be obtained from a foot crossing just to the north which comes out of an industrial estate and used to give access to Bognor airfield.
The approach to the station is like going back in time with the track opening up from two raods into the terminus area. The station buildings are still fairly much in their original state. Unfortunatly comming in by train you cannot really appritiate this, but if you turn right once through the ticket barrier, go out of the side entrance of the station and turn right along the main road, follow it down untill a sharp left hand bend, you will see a footbridge on your right. Go onto the bridge and you can then see into the station.
