This place was a real treat for me. Coming from the Sprinter and Pacer operated land of West Cumbria, seeing Trans-Pennine Express 158s and 175s was a nice change.
We were catching a plane to Florida the next day and were staying over night at the SAS Radisson hotel, which is very nice and I recommend it to all if you've got a fair journey to Manchester Airport, like I have.
Remember though, the lifts here are terrible. It took us fifteen seconds just to go up one story. Thankfully we had no bags while exploring the station, so we used the stairs from then on.
There were lots of trains, and I read on a sign that there was 75 leaving the terminus every 24 hours. Wow, that's a lot. We're lucky if we get one every hour of daylight up here!
